Surface grinding

This is the most commonly used grinding process and is utilised in almost all grinding sectors to produce flat, planar surfaces.

This process normally uses vitrified bonded, porous grinding wheels in grit sizes ranging from 36 to 54 with very soft grinding wheel hardness grades between E and H.

The abrasive to be used is selected depending on the composition of the material being machined

The use of microcrystalline sintered aluminium oxide as an abrasive is particularly popular in a wide range of applications due to its universal applicability. By using this type of grain, for example, operators are able to avoid time-consuming tool changes.
